OUR PROGRAMS

In our world of perpetual rushing and changing, it is a rare phenomenon for a historical event to endure long after the event itself. Yet, 65 years since World War II, its legacy is still unparalleled. Christened the “Greatest Generation,” the heroes who fought in World War II hail from an enduring time in history—one when much hung in the balance.

Sadly, though, many of the veterans we meet today – those who sacrificed a great deal and have asked for little in return – have lived with little acknowledgement.  Their stories remain largely untold. Many of them have yet to find any measure closure of their war experiences. More often than not, these men and women remain invisible to the world, unrecognized for their invaluable role in securing the freedoms we enjoy today. Our short-term work is focused on surviving veterans of World War II, as their number dwindles daily.

The Greatest Generations Foundation programming may be divided into three categories: veteran services; youth and community education; and historical preservation.
